Saved: Romans 10:12-13

African Violet

12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:12-13
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Acts 2:21
And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; Joel 2:32a

Many undertakings have difficult and complicated steps to achieve approval. The Lord, however, doesn’t require difficult and complicated procedures from us to be saved. Paul states in Romans and Luke states in Acts, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
In Luke 23:42-43, a criminal on the cross beside Jesus calls to Him, “… “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

To call on the name of the Lord means to reach out to Christ, in faith seeking salvation. God, our Father, richly blesses all who call upon Him. Today, take time to thankfully praise God, our Father, for His grace, compassion, and love. For, we are truly loved and blessed.

When in distress, who do you call out to for help?

Prayer: Dear Lord, we thank you for richly blessing us and answering our calls for help, protection, direction, and strength. Let our faith grow and blossom like the African violet’s numerous blooms. Help us to turn away from sin, call on Your name, and embrace Your gift of salvation. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

  1. Jesus, for sure. 😊 I love African Violets. Both my mom and grandma always had many of them blooming. We have two cats, one of which loves to chew plants (even fake ones) or I’d have African Violets too.

      1. Oh wow! 18 years! That’s so good! You must have quite the green thumb. I seem to be better with outdoor plants than indoor plants for some reason. But as with everything it takes knowing what a plant needs to grow and keep blooming. And some plants are very particular! My mom is really good with houseplants. She can get orchids to bloom again! That takes a long time and patience. This is something I still need more of. 😊 I’m not talking about plants anymore…lol😁

      2. Flowers and plants are favorites of mine – they make me smile. I have been taking photos of them for years. My Spiritual Advisor, pushed me to do to use the flower photos and add scripture. That advice led me to start the gardenfaith blog. The interesting thing is that sharing scripture and flower photos is helping to lead me deeper in my faith – which is good. It is always great hearing from you. I also have an orchid that reblooms – it’s older that the African violet – it photo will be featured sometime in the future. Being patient is more difficult for me than growing flowers. God Bless!

      3. God Bless you too, Jeanne. Yes, sharing and writing definitely leads us into a deeper faith. I started writing in 2006 and I can’t stop. It helps me so much, and I hope it helps others as well.
