Shield of Love: Psalm 5:12

For you bless the godly, O LORD; you surround them with your shield of love.

Psalm 5:12 (NLT)

To be considered godly, we need to be focused on God, to live a God-centered lifestyle, and to adore God. Godliness is something that we need to pursue, to work at. No special talent is needed for God supplies all we need. When we embrace a godly life, we go forward in security and peace, knowing God is with us. God blesses the godly surrounding them with His shield of love.

God’s shield of love is available to everyone. How could you be more focused on living a God-centered life?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for your grace and forgiveness of us. Teach us to live a more godly life. Like the redbud tree blossoms are gathered together and glow reflecting sunlight, let us gather together in praise and glow with Your light. We thank you for blessing us and surrounding us with your shield of love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

  2. Thank you Jeanne for the reminder that no special talent is needed to live a life of godliness. All we need is a willing heart to obey the Lord. His Holy Spirit will work in us and through us to accomplish His purposes.

  3. A godly life is a good life. ☺ It definitely takes intention and prayer, though, for the Spirit is wiling but the flesh is weak. I’m thankful then that we can learn to do all things through Christ who strengthens us. And we have the help of the Holy Spirit and a Father in Heaven who mercifully sent His Son ❤ Have a blessed week, Jeanne! 😊

    1. Hi Tina, I agree. We have to make a conscious effort to follow where the Spirit is directing us, to put worldly distractions away, and focus on following Jesus. It is easy (for me) to steep in worry and forget Our Heavenly Father is strong, loving, and in charge. Have a peace-filled and blessed week! It is always good to hear from you! 🌺🌼

  4. The Redbud tree is Oklahoma’s (my state) state tree! The Redbud is beautiful when it’s in bloom! You are right, we must be focused on God to live a godly, God-centered life. God bless you, Jeanne!

    1. Hi Deborah, I didn’t realize it was the OK state tree. The redbud tree is a favorite of mine. This one is a young one I planted a couple of years ago, to enjoy it as a harbinger of spring. Focusing on God, and His Word directs us toward a God-centered life. Have a blessed week! 🌺🌼
