Truth – Psalm 119:160

The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever. Psalm 119:160 (NKJV)

Biblical truth, an attribute of God, is seen in His character and word. The verse affirms that all of God’s word is the truth. His teachings are absolute, reliable, eternal, and unchanging. These standards offer a solid, unshakable foundation on which we can build our lives.

And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. – Psalm 12:6 (NIV)

Following God’s righteous, unchanging, enduring judgments leads us along the path of righteousness. By accepting and following His teachings, we find hope in His love, truth, and unbreakable promises and develop a closer relationship with Him and a more purposeful life.

Your words all add up to the sum total: Truth.
Your righteous decisions are eternal.

Psalm 119:160 (MSG)

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love and Your word. We know Your word is true and lasting. Help us accept Your teaching and grow closer to You. Guide us in Your truth and light. Like the recurring sunset and sunrise, let us trust Your unbreakable promises and truth. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

Spirit and Truth – John 4:24

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth”

John 4:24 (NKJV)

God is a spirit transcending our physical limitations; he is not restricted to being in a single location. Our God is immortal and omnipresent. He is infinite, invisible, and intelligent.  He can be in all places at once; he is not like an idol limited to one spot, for God can be worshipped at any time or place.

How do we worship in spirit and truth? By worshipping God sincerely, with all our heart, mind, and soul, and in our actions.

“36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. -Matthew 22:36-37 (ESV)

Worshipping in the spirit involves our minds, will, and emotions, having a genuine connection to God. It is important to worship Him with gratitude, adoration, and thanksgiving. Worshiping in truth means worshiping honestly, believing in God, and trusting Him and His promises.

23-24 “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.” John 4 : 23-24 (MSG)

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your love, grace, and mercy. Help us to develop a closer genuine connection with You. Teach us to worship in the spirit; with sincerity and truth, in honesty, and, with thanksgiving. Like the flower of the sunflower seeks the sun, let us seek You worshiping You in spirit and truth. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

The Truth- 1 John 1:6

This is the message we heard from Jesus[a] and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

1 John 1: 5-6 (NLT)

God is light; He is faithful and true in Him, there; is no darkness. Jesus is the truth; He is the way, the truth, and the life. Sin separates us from God. However, if we have fellowship with one another and walk in the light, the blood of Jesus washes away the stain of sin.

The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.

Psalm 145:18 (NLT)

If we know God and want to have fellowship with Him, we need to obey His Word. If we go on living in spiritual darkness, saying that we have fellowship with God, we are lying, not practicing the truth.

May we walk in the spirit of truth; from this day forward.

5 This, in essence, is the message we heard from Christ and are passing on to you: God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him.
6 If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth – we’re not living what we claim.

1 John 1: 5-6 (MSG)

God delights in the truth. Are you walking in the light, in truth, and fellowship with God?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, teach us to walk in the light. Help us to learn Your way and follow Your Word. Guide us away from sin and darkness. Teach us to confess our sins and change our ways. Like the sun lights the rhododendron blossoms, let us walk in Your light and spread Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen
