Peace of God: Philippians 4:7

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7 (NIV)

Peace is something we all seem to search for. I just need a few minutes peace is an often-heard comment. How do we experience God’s peace?

When we put our problems in God’s hands, His supernatural peace calms our minds, getting rid of our anxious thoughts. How can we do this? When we are anxious, we need to reach out to God in prayer, letting go of our concerns; trusting Him.

New Living Translation
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)

Letting go of our worries and anxieties frees our minds; allowing us to focus on positive things. Trust lets us relax and experience God’s supernatural peace, a peace that transcends our understanding. We may not always get the result we want. However, God is with us and will help us deal with any inner turmoil.

Having Jesus Christ in our hearts and minds lets us focus on kindness, contentment, love, and helping one another, bringing peace to our relationships with others.

Who do you reach out to with your anxiety and worries? Do you reach out in prayer for the peace of God?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your grace and compassion toward us. Teach us to give You our worries and concerns. Let us prayerfully reach out, finding the peace of God. Like the beautiful open flowers of the anemone, may we be open-minded and open-hearted to Christ. Amen

God is love: 1 John 4:7-8

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 4: 7-8 (NIV)

Love comes from God; it flows from His heart to us. Since God is love, when we accept Him, we grow in love. Knowing God teaches us to love. You can’t know God if you don’t love. God loved the world so much that he gave us Jesus.

We love because he first loved us. God so loved the world He gave us Jesus.

John 4-19

God gave us His one and only Son; so that we could have eternal life.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

Jesus loves us like God the Father loved Him.

Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you;

John 15:9a

Jesus came to save the lost, to heal the sick, to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.(Mark 10:45)

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:10 (NIV)

On the night He was betrayed, Jesus gave his disciples a new commandment.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

John 13:34

For God is love. 💖

Are you recognized as a Christian by your love?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your love. Help us to be better Christians, to grow in Your love. Teach us to love one another as you have loved us. Like the blossoming, open flower of the peony, let us blossom in Your love and be open to Jesus’ commandment to love one another. Amen

My Hope: Psalm 62:5-6

5Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
6Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

Psalm 62:5-6 (NIV)

Psalm 62 is a psalm of David. It is a psalm of confidence, of trust in God. David has bitter enemies, but he has confidence God could and would deliver him. When our souls find rest in God, we give up our worldly concerns and trust God.
Where does our hope come from; our hope comes from God. He is our rock, our salvation. Meditation and prayer strengthen faith and build a strong foundation in the Lord. Like David, we can learn not to be overcome by worries but to stand strong in faith unshaken.

When worldly issues are overwhelming, is God your rock and your hope?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, You are our rock, salvation, and our hope. Thanks for being our strong foundation and our shelter during life storms. Teach us to let go of our worldly concerns and put our trust in You. Like the full rose blossoms make a lovely garden, let us be full of hope and reflect Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Perfect, Sure, Right-Psalm 19:7-10

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, [e]converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the [f]honeycomb. (NKJ)

Psalm 19:7-10

David is describing the law, testimony, statutes, and commandments of the Lord; as perfect, sure, and right. God’s Word is mentioned; in synonyms as law, testimony, statutes, commandments, and judgments. These are the will of God directing the way we are to live.
God’s Word is perfect and just; David cites the blessings that come to those who obey and love His law. Blessings include the brightening and enlightening of the eyes, the heart rejoicing, and the soul enriched.
Using six descriptions, he tells of the glorious character of God’s Word.

  • The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul
  • The testimony of the Lord is sure, making the wise the simple
  • The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart
  • The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
  • The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
  • The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

The law of the Lord is greater than gold; fine gold and has a lifetime guarantee. It’s a spiritual treasure more enriching to the soul; and more valuable than material wealth. David again says this in Psalm 119:127.

Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold!

Psalm 119:127 (NKJ)

In verse ten, David explains that believers will find the Lord’s statutes, the way to sweet joy, sweet to the soul sweeter than honey. Yes, the Word of the Lord is perfect, sure, and right!

The revelation of GOD is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of GOD are clear and point out the right road. The life-maps of GOD are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of GOD are plain and easy on the eyes. GOD’s reputation is twenty-four-carat gold, with a lifetime guarantee. The decisions of GOD are accurate down to the nth degree. God’s Word is better than a diamond, better than a diamond set between emeralds. You’ll like it better than strawberries in spring, better than red, ripe strawberries.

Psalm 19: 7-10 (MSG)

Is God’s Word changing your life? Is His Word perfect, sure, and right to you? Valuable to you? More than gold?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word and guidance. Help us to open our hearts and minds to Your law. Guide us in Your perfect, sure, and right ways. Let Your commandments shine brightly in us, giving light to our minds. Like the bright yellow crocus is a signal of spring, let Your Word be a signal of hope and joy for us. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen
