This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
– Hebrews 6:19 (NLT)
An anchor represents stability, security, and steadfastness. It keeps a ship from drifting away, and for early Christians, it symbolized hope and safety. Hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. Hope in God’s promises keeps us secure and stable during challenging times. No matter what we are going through, hope can keep us grounded and able to withstand difficulties and problems.
In the Old Testament tabernacle, a curtain or veil separated the inner sanctuary—the Most Holy Place—where God’s presence dwelled. Only the high priest could enter it once a year. At Jesus’ crucifixion, the veil was torn, the barrier removed, allowing believers to have direct access to God through Jesus.
19And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.
– Hebrews 10:19-20 (NLT)
Jesus Christ is the anchor of our hope – a hope that’s steady and unshakable. When we trust His promises and lean on His love, our souls find peace and stability, even in the middle of life’s storms.

Jesus, You are our hope and salvation, our anchor and refuge in life’s storms. Thank You for being with us and hearing our prayers. Help us to follow You and grow in faith. Just as the bright red coneflower is rooted in the ground, may our souls be anchored in hope. Amen.

Amen and Amen, for Jesus is our anchor. The steady and steadfast nature of our Lord calms and secures my soul.
