God is Great: Psalm 70:4

Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, β€œLet God be magnified!” Psalm 70:4 (NKJV)

Let all those who seek You is an open invitation for everyone to reach out to God. Seeking God is an active and intentional pursuit. It’s a choice to have a relationship with the Lord and to grow close to Him. You are actively pursuing a relationship growing in trust and faith in Him. This results in experiencing joy and happiness, rejoicing in His presence in your life. Like David, we can feel God’s comfort and peace, even during difficult times, and rejoice in the Lord.

Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! – Psalm 32:11 (NIV)

Let those who love Your salvation, the salvation found through Jesus Christ dying for our sins, as well as God’s protection from danger. In gratitude and gladness for His love and salvation, we raise our voices in praise, repeatedly shouting “God is great!” “Let God be magnified!” For He is good, and His unfailing love continues forever.

For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. -Psalm 100:5 (NLT)

This verse highlights that joy and gladness are found by those who earnestly seek God, leading to continuing praise and worship, for God is great, let us magnify Him!

⁂

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy. Help us to tell others of Your love, encouraging them to seek You. We rejoice in Your salvation and thank You for Your protection. Like the azalea blossoms are gathered together, always brightening spring, let us gather together, always praising You, declaring God is great. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

Joy to the Heart – Psalm 19:8

The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. Psalm 19:8 (NLT)

In Psalm 19:8, David explains how God’s commandments are right. Right, meaning they align with God’s ways and truth; they are just and instruct, protect, and guide us. They are not oppressive rules, but guidance that enriches our lives. The rules provide a firm foundation on which we can grow and build. When we keep the Lord’s commandments and follow His word, it results in happiness, a feeling of joy in the heart, and clarity of mind. We have a settled joy, not just a passing happiness, that enables us to experience God’s peace even in difficult times.

God’s commandments are clear, pure, and radiant; they are like a lamp guiding us through life’s challenges. When we follow them, we are transformed and enlightened, enabling us to shine and reflect his truth and love to others.

⁂

Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and guidance. Your commandments guide us and direct our path, giving us strength and peace, especially in difficult times. They enrich our lives and encourage bringing joy to the heart. Like the open blossoms of the azalea brighten spring days, let us be open to Your word and let our love brightly shine, illuminating the darkness. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

He Answered Me – Psalm 34:4

4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4 (NIV)

As he says in verse four, during times of fear and distress, David turned to God. Like David, we can overcome fear in times of danger, terror, and depression. Β The key is bringing our problems to the Lord in prayer.

If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31b (NIV)

God is on our side. He will fight for us. King David’s life and safety were in danger on many occasions. Β He prayed to God, as he wrote in Psalm 23:4, and God answered him, and he found peace.

4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4 (NIV)

Even in the darkest valley, God was with him.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 (NIV)

Being delivered “from all my fears” doesn’t mean that threats cease to exist; it means trusting God to handle them and experiencing a divine calm. When we pray, the Lord can remove our anxiety, allowing us to experience divine peace, knowing that the Maker of heaven and earth is in control of the situation.

May we be like David and trust in God, turning our anxious moments into prayer, relying on and depending on Him.

⁂

Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and protection. Teach us to reach out to You in prayer in times of fear and danger. We thank You for answering our prayers and for being on our side. Help us to release our anxiety to You and receive Your divine peace. Like the colorful azalea flower brightens springtime, let us shine brightly, reflecting Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
