Hallelujah! -Psalm 146:1-2

Psalm 146 is part of the Hallelujah Psalms, which include psalms 146 through 150. They all begin and end with praise the Lord. Hallelujah means “praise the Lord.” The word “hallel” means “to praise,” while the last “jah” refers to God.

Praise is an acknowledgement of the goodness of God, His love for us, and His mercy and grace to us. Heartfelt praise responds to His faithfulness and expresses our gratitude to God. Praise is a reflection of our love for Him.

The phrase “O my soul” signifies that praise comes from deep within us, from our very soul. Our praise should be joyful, expressing our heartfelt love, respect, and affection for God.

Praise and worship help us feel a deeper connection and build a closer relationship with God.

Even in tough times, we can choose to praise God, as He is our hope, refuge, and strength. Hallelujah! May I spend my life worshipping and praising God.

Eternal Life – 1 John 4:9

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to us to show us the extent of His love. For what reason did God send Jesus to us? To provide healing to our world, to turn us from wickedness to holiness, and to deliver us from sin. God’s love is a gift given to everyone, a manifestation of His divine character.

Jesus was sent to tell us the good news of God. Those who believe in Him are forgiven and reconciled with God. Jesus died for our sins; His death on the cross was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Jesus came and died to give us life and have it abundantly, eternal life.

Jesus says in John 10:10.

The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I’ve come that they may have life, and have it abundantly. – John 10:10 (ISV)

God loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, who died for our sins so we could have eternal life through Him.

11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

God loves us; in appreciation, we should love and obey Him and reflect His love to others.

Call On Me – Jeremiah 29:12

12 When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers. – Jeremiah 29:12 (NET)

This verse is part of a letter that the prophet Jeremiah wrote to the Israelites exiled in Babylon. Jeremiah reassures the Israelites that God has a plan for their welfare and encourages them to seek Him and call upon Him. God wants us to personally reach out to Him. To call on Him with genuine intent and faith, with a sincere heart. When we reach out to God in prayer, He listens to us. He listens to us no matter what our circumstances may be.

When we sincerely call on God in prayer, our prayers are heard by our loving, compassionate God. He cares about us and wants to help us; he has plans for us, plans to give us hope and a future.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11

This verse is a reminder of the importance of prayer during our busy, challenging, difficult days. For God is accessible to us and offers us comfort, hope, and direction. God wants us to open our hearts and genuinely seek Him by reaching out through prayer. For He has plans for us. Plans to prosper us and give us hope and a future.

Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love, patience, and forgiveness. May we reach out to You and grow closer to You through prayer. Faith and Obedience – John 14:23

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. Then my Father will love him, and we will go to him and make our home within him. John 14:23 (ISV)

Jesus wants to be close to us, involved in our lives, and have a personal connection with us. Keeping His word means following Him and His teachings with faith and obedience, and adhering to His word in our daily lives.

God loves us, and He wants to have a deeper loving relationship with us. When we love Jesus, our actions demonstrate that love, and our desire to follow His word reflects it. When we love and obey, we have the wonderful privilege of having the love of God the Father and Jesus in our lives. Jesus dwells in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, providing guidance and strength.

When we love God, our actions reflect that love as we trust His word and follow His path. Knowing that God walks beside us, providing us comfort and peace.

God is Great: Psalm 70:4

Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let God be magnified!” Psalm 70:4 (NKJV)

Let all those who seek You is an open invitation for everyone to reach out to God. Seeking God is an active and intentional pursuit. It’s a choice to have a relationship with the Lord and to grow close to Him. You are actively pursuing a relationship growing in trust and faith in Him. This results in experiencing joy and happiness, rejoicing in His presence in your life. Like David, we can feel God’s comfort and peace, even during difficult times, and rejoice in the Lord.

Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! – Psalm 32:11 (NIV)

Let those who love Your salvation, the salvation found through Jesus Christ dying for our sins, as well as God’s protection from danger. In gratitude and gladness for His love and salvation, we raise our voices in praise, repeatedly shouting “God is great!” “Let God be magnified!” For He is good, and His unfailing love continues forever.

For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. -Psalm 100:5 (NLT)

This verse highlights that joy and gladness are found by those who earnestly seek God, leading to continuing praise and worship, for God is great, let us magnify Him!

Psalm 136 is about God, the creator of the universe, and highlights His mighty powers, His faithful love, and His miraculous works. God can perform great wonders that are beyond human comprehension, awe-inspiring, and miraculous acts. He made the earth, sky, waters, and the beauty of heaven and earth. God is omnipotent. He has power and control over all creation.

His faithful love endures forever.

God’s faithful love is always present for everyone and never changes. He is faithful and cares about us. We should thank Him for His compassion, mercy, and grace toward us. Thanks to God for his never-ending mercy, goodness, and love. When we realize God’s work in our lives and worship and read His word, we cultivate a heart of gratitude, focusing on our blessings and maintaining a positive outlook on life. The Lord is good; His faithful love endures forever.

Abide – 1 John 4:16

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

John describes the character of God in this verse. Love is the essence of God, and God is love. When we abide in love, we abide in God. As Christians, we know and believe in God’s unwavering love. All His actions are motivated by love.

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

– John 3:16 (NIV)

To abide is to remain, to dwell, to stay. To abide in love, we need to dwell in love and let it influence our thoughts and actions. When we abide in love, we reflect God’s essence by extending His love to one another. By exhibiting forgiveness, selflessness, and patience, we embody God’s love.

John highlights that God is love in this verse and exhorts us to dwell in God and emulate his love. When we do this, we not only enrich our lives but also those around us, creating a ripple effect of love and kindness in the world.

God’s faithfulness—Isaiah 46:4

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4 (NIV)

At the time Isaiah wrote this, the Israelis were exiles in Babylonian captivity. God, through Isaiah, reassures them, reminding them of God’s faithfulness, support, and care, even in old age. He is our constant companion; he will sustain us. God is eternal and unchangeable; He will carry us throughout our lives, as He always has. God is faithful to His people.

God made us and has plans for us; He guides our path. We can trust in His promises and find comfort in His unwavering presence. With each step we take, His love and guidance provide us with the strength to persevere through any trial. God will rescue us and deliver us from affliction and, at the end of life, take us home to live with Him in heaven.

For us, this verse serves as a reminder of God’s love and support from the beginning to the end. We can find comfort in His faithfulness, power, and grace. In every challenge, we can rely on His unwavering presence to guide us, strengthening our faith and inspiring us to share His love and hope with others.

I’ve been carrying you on my back from the day you were born,

David is praising the immense beauty and wonder of God’s creation. God formed the heavens, earth, and the vast universe. Our earth is a wonder of diversity and complexity, with a remarkable interdependence between plants and animals.

God formed the majesty of the heavens, the moon, and the stars. The sun that lights our days.

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! – Psalm 8:1

In verse 4, David ponders the significance of humanity in the grandeur of the universe. He is humbled that God, in His infinite wisdom, made man in His image and bestowed His love, mercy, and kindness upon us, entrusting us to be stewards of His world, responsibly managing the earth.

His Love Endures Forever – Psalm 107:1

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Psalm 118:1

The beginning of Psalm 107:1 is a reminder to Give thanks to the Lord and to praise His name because God is good. God is faithful, He is good, He has helped us, provided for us, and rescued us, His people. It serves as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and goodness towards us. It encourages us to acknowledge and appreciate the blessings, mercy, and grace we have received from God.

It has been said when God repeats himself, He is trying to get our attention. The verse; Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever is in the bible 41 times. The wording may be stated differently, like His devotion, steadfast love, and mercy; endure forever. In Psalm 136, all 26 verses end with, His love endures forever. Endures forever, meaning His love is everlasting, eternal, abiding, and perpetual.

Hallelujah! Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.

Psalm 106:1

Psalm 136:26

Paul expresses God’s enduring love in the New Testament, Romans 8, stating that neither death, life, angels, heavenly rulers, height or depth, or anything in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

God loves everyone, showing kindness and mercy to all. God loves us so much; He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for our sins.
