True, Honorable, and Right: Philippians 4:8-9

8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT)

Paul is writing the Philippians, advising how to handle disagreements, and explaining how to focus on things that are pleasing to God instead. He stressed the importance of deliberately focusing on positive things; true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable things. To meditate on these good things, not the bad things; to focus on things to praise rather than bemoan; to exhibit fruits of the Spirit. To embrace spiritual fruits; like love, kindness, patience, gentleness, and self-control. These spiritual fruits increase when we have strong faith and; our minds are focused on Christ; instead of on problems and difficulties. Practice kindness and love, have holy thoughts, and live holy lives; and the God of peace will be with you and guide you.

Do you allow disagreements and discord to rule your life, or do you fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, and right?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your guidance, forgiveness, and grace. Teach us to respond to others as You do to us; with love, kindness, and gentleness. Encourage us to fix our minds on Christ; and focus on what is true, honorable, right, and admirable. Like the daisy flowers are open and reaching toward the sun, let us be open to positive actions, and reach toward You and receive peace. In Jesus’ holy loving name. Amen

Who is a rock, except our God? 2 Samuel 22:31-32

31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 32 “For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?”

2 Samuel 22:31-32 (NKJV)

31 What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him Makes it. 32 Is there any god like God? Are we not at bedrock?

2 Samuel 22:31-32 (MSG)

After the Lord delivered David from his enemies and Saul, he wrote this song/psalm. David depended on the Lord, believed in His promises, turned to Him in prayer, and followed His way. The Lord protected and shielded David, keeping him safe. In this song, David acknowledges that his achievements all came from God. What a God! His way is perfect; there is none like Him.
This chapter in 2 Samuel is known as; David’s Psalm of Thanksgiving, Davids’s Psalm of Deliverance, and David’s Psalm of Deliverance and Manifold Blessings. The verses are repeated with little variation again in Psalm 18.
Verse 32 sums up the power and greatness of the Lord; For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? Yes, the Lord is our rock, strong, steadfast, and our safe refuge.

Is the Lord your rock? Do you lean on Him during times of trouble like David did?

Prayer; Our Lord, our guide and protector, you are our strength and our shield. We thank Your direction and Your perfect way. Teach us to rely on You and turn to You during times of trouble. Lord, You are our God, our hope, our rock. Like the beautiful iris is nestled by rock and reaching toward the sky, let us lean on You, our rock, and reach upward toward You. In Jesus’ holy and loving name. Amen

Abba, Father: Romans 8:14-16

14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. 15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children.

Romans 8:14-16 (NET)

Are you feeling lost, alone, unwanted, or afraid? You are not alone; those who believe, who are led by the Holy Spirit, are children of God. We have not received a spirit of slavery but the Spirit of adoption, allowing us to call God; Abba, Father. We are His children, heirs to His kingdom. We can reach out in prayer to God, our Heavenly Father, for advice and guidance; He is our help, hope, and future. We can relax knowing that God, Abba, loves us and has a plan for us:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) We may go through difficult times, but God, our Father, is with us always.

All that accept Christ and are Spirit lead; are God’s children allowing us to cry out to Him in need, for our Heavenly Father loves all His children. What fear are you holding onto that you need to give to God, Abba, our Father?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, Abba, we are your children, and we worship and praise You. Thank you for Your forgiveness, care, and love. Teach us to cry out to You in prayer when we need help, direction, and guidance. Let the Holy Spirit guide and direct us, and bring us closer to You and Your kingdom. Like the mums and begonias, grow together with beauty and harmony, teach us as children of God to live together in harmony and peace. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Rest: Matthew 11:28

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NLT)

An invitation of hope and comfort from Jesus to all; “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” He is offering you comfort and rest for your soul. He calls for all to believe in Him, to come to Him. He can heal your broken heart, give you rest and peace, and set you free from the burden of sin. He offers spiritual rest, tranquility to the weary, and hope to the lost. Come to Jesus; He is humble and gentle of heart. In Him, you will find rest for your soul. Through Jesus, we can receive comfort, happiness, peace, salvation, and rest.

Jesus came into the world to give hope, comfort, and rest to His believers. Are you holding on to your heavy burdens or giving them to Jesus; and finding peace and rest?

Prayer; We thank you, Jesus, for Your open invitation to come to you. Teach us to reach out to you; call upon your name, and give you our burdens. Jesus, you are humble and kind; let us accept your gentle yoke and find rest for our souls. Like the open outer flowers, surround the small inner flowers in the Lacecap Hydrangea; surround us in Your love and help us find rest and inner peace. Amen
