God of all Comfort: 2Corinthians 1:3

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.

2 Corinthians 1:3 (NLT)

In this verse, Paul is giving thanks for God’s comfort. As Christians, we learn to turn to God for relief from pain and suffering and find comfort from worldly woes. Through His Word, we are strengthened and encouraged. Comfort, compassion, and mercy are found through Jesus; when we reach out to him. We can quit worrying and striving on our own; and find rest and comfort in God’s strength.

3 Blessed is[a] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles[b] so that we may be able to comfort those experiencing any trouble[c] with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (NET)

We can take time and share the peace we receive from God when we reach out and comfort others who are experiencing trouble.

Praise to God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our source of hope and comfort. โ‚

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for your mercy and comfort. Teach us to turn to you when we are hurting and overwhelmed. Like the blooms of the lilies are gathered together, supporting each other, let us gather under your wings, feel your comfort, and support one another. In Jesus’ Holy name. Amen

Our Refuge: Psalm 9:9-10

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you

Psalm 9:9-10 (NIV)

God, our Heavenly Father, is our stronghold in times of trouble. A stronghold is defined as a well-fortified place of protection against attack. God is a refuge for the oppressed, the poor, the needy, those without power, and for protection from evil. He is our refuge and stronghold.

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Psalm 46:1(NLT)

Our God is faithful; He keeps His promises. Seek Him, for He is good; He will not forsake you. He is worthy of your confidence and trust. He is your help in times of trouble, your refuge; you can rely on Him.

9-10 Godโ€™s a safe-house for the battered,
a sanctuary during bad times.
The moment you arrive, you relax;
youโ€™re never sorry you knocked.

Psalm 9:9-10 (MSG) โ‚

God is our refuge and our strength. In times of trouble, is your first response to turn to God?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our stronghold and refuge during difficult times. Help us to grow in faith, seek You, and trust You. Teach us to reach out to You in trust knowing you will never forsake us. Like the allium flowers spiral out in all directions, your love spirals out, surrounding us; You are our stronghold, our hope. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Our Strength: Psalm 37:39

39But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
40And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him.

Psalm 37:39-40 (NKJV)

In this verse, David recounts how God’s strength was his refuge. During times of trouble, while his enemies were after him trying to kill him, the Lord protected and rescued David.
Verse 39 states that the Lord offers salvation to the righteous. He is our strength during times of trouble; He will deliver us and save us. Salvation is from the Lord. He helps us bear burdens, takes our worries, and gives us peace. Our job is to love and trust the Lord following His path for us. God saves those who trust in Him. โ˜

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Psalm 46:1 (NLT)

When times are overwhelming, where do you put your trust? Do you rely on your wits or God’s strength?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our refuge and protection. Teach us to turn to you during troubled times; you are our strength. Help us to embrace Your wisdom and follow Your path. Like the rhododendron branches support the flowers, lifting them toward sunlight, let us lean on Your strength and spread Your Son-light. In Jesus’ holy and loving name. Amen

Seek Me: Jeremiah 29:13

Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 (AMP)

God is waiting for us, waiting for us to reach out to him. He is waiting for us; to prayerfully search for Him; to search with integrity and sincerity. When you seriously seek God, He promises that you will find Him. How do you seek Him? By searching for Him with all your strength, soul, and mind, with all your heart. God is available and waiting; for us to seek Him, come to Him, and abide with Him.

How do you seek God? Do you seek Him sincerely in prayer and with your whole heart?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, teach us to always seek You. Lord, we thank you for Your timeless promise that when we seek You, we will find You. Help us to seek You with integrity and sincerity. Like the wide-open reaching upward blooms of the peppermint tulips, let us open our hearts wide and sincerely reach out to You. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

My Hope: Psalm 62:5-6

5Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
6Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

Psalm 62:5-6 (NIV)

Psalm 62 is a psalm of David. It is a psalm of confidence, of trust in God. David has bitter enemies, but he has confidence God could and would deliver him. When our souls find rest in God, we give up our worldly concerns and trust God.
Where does our hope come from; our hope comes from God. He is our rock, our salvation. Meditation and prayer strengthen faith and build a strong foundation in the Lord. Like David, we can learn not to be overcome by worries but to stand strong in faith unshaken.

When worldly issues are overwhelming, is God your rock and your hope?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, You are our rock, salvation, and our hope. Thanks for being our strong foundation and our shelter during life storms. Teach us to let go of our worldly concerns and put our trust in You. Like the full rose blossoms make a lovely garden, let us be full of hope and reflect Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Who is a rock, except our God? 2 Samuel 22:31-32

31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 32 โ€œFor who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?”

2 Samuel 22:31-32 (NKJV)

31 What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him Makes it. 32 Is there any god like God? Are we not at bedrock?

2 Samuel 22:31-32 (MSG)

After the Lord delivered David from his enemies and Saul, he wrote this song/psalm. David depended on the Lord, believed in His promises, turned to Him in prayer, and followed His way. The Lord protected and shielded David, keeping him safe. In this song, David acknowledges that his achievements all came from God. What a God! His way is perfect; there is none like Him.
This chapter in 2 Samuel is known as; David’s Psalm of Thanksgiving, Davids’s Psalm of Deliverance, and David’s Psalm of Deliverance and Manifold Blessings. The verses are repeated with little variation again in Psalm 18.
Verse 32 sums up the power and greatness of the Lord; For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? Yes, the Lord is our rock, strong, steadfast, and our safe refuge.

Is the Lord your rock? Do you lean on Him during times of trouble like David did?

Prayer; Our Lord, our guide and protector, you are our strength and our shield. We thank Your direction and Your perfect way. Teach us to rely on You and turn to You during times of trouble. Lord, You are our God, our hope, our rock. Like the beautiful iris is nestled by rock and reaching toward the sky, let us lean on You, our rock, and reach upward toward You. In Jesus’ holy and loving name. Amen

The Lord Reigns: Psalm 93:1

The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.

Psalm 93:1 (NIV)

The LORD reigns over everything. His throne is eternal, established at the beginning of time. He is powerful, clothed in strength and honor. He is robed in majesty, not just clothed but empowered with majesty, splendor, honor, and glory. And He shall reign forever and ever. The world He created, He established, and He rules. The world is under His established dominion, solid, secure, and immovable. The Lord reigns; our Eternal King, our Triune God, reigns, in supreme serenity, forgiving, caring, and loving. Our Lord is omniscient, has knowledge of everything, and His people must abide by His Word, follow His path, and not worry, knowing He is in control.

Are you putting your faith and hope in Our majestic Lord, who has reigned, does reign, and will reign forever, allowing Him to guide and direct you?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we worship you and praise you. We are in awe of your majesty, and strength, and wisdom. Lord, you reign, with power and majesty. We know you are Lord God Almighty; we turn our worries and fears over to you, knowing You are in control. Like the three glowing, bright, and beautiful lilies shine in the light, the majesty, strength, and honor of our three in one God; shine truth and light on us. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

ย He Shall Reign (Live) – Hillsong Worship

Lyrics:

Holy holy holy
Our God is on the throne
So firm is His foundation
No power can overthrow

And He shall reign
Forever and ever

One name outlasts the ages
Through time His truth revealed
While kings may pass like shadows
Our God is sovereign still

And He shall reign
Forever and ever…

Lord, Your love: Psalm 36:5-7

5 Lord, your love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithful love reaches up to the skies.
6 Your holiness is as great as the height of the highest mountains.
You are as honest as the oceans are deep.
Lord, you keep people and animals safe.
7 How priceless your faithful love is!
People find safety in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 36:5-7 (NIRV)

Psalm 36 verses 1-4 David is concerned about wicked people; who are evil, rebellious, embrace sin, and have no fear of God. In contrast in verses, 5-7 David, describes the Lord, His love is vast as the heavens, His faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds, His righteousness is mighty like the mountains and, His justice deep like the ocean. The Lord is compassionate; He cares for all His people and all the creatures of the earth. In Luke 12:6: Jesus says, What is the price of five sparrowsโ€”two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. He cares for all His creation; all humanity finds shelter in the shadow of God’s wings. Lord, we worship and praise You; Your Love is as high as the heavens. Your faithful love reaches up to the skies. You are all-powerful and almighty.

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.
7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter
in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 36:5-7 (NLT)

Lord, Your love is as high as the heavens, and Your faithful love reaches the sky. The wicked may have temporary success, but our almighty God will shelter the godly in the shadow of His wings and reward the righteous.

Have you found love, hope, and shelter in the shadow of God’s wings?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, You are our hope, our strength, and our salvation. Lord, teach us to cling to Your promises, bask in Your love, and know You are in control. Help us to open our hearts, transmit Your light, and share Your love with others. Like the Gomphrena fireworks, bright flower petals radiate in all directions; let us brighten the world by radiating Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Do Not Be Afraid: Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

This verse has always been a go-to verse for me. This encouraging verse calms me when I am overwhelmed, gives me hope when I am discouraged, and strengthens when I am afraid. For God is encouraging us not to fear, instead to trust in Him, for He is with us, He is powerful, and no situation is greater than He is. God will support, comfort, and strengthen us. He is our ever-present help during trouble; He can be relied upon. Yes, God will uphold us with His pure, faithful, and righteous right hand.

God says, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you.” When you are overwhelmed, weak, or afraid, do you reach out to God?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for being our shelter during life’s storms. You are our hope when we are discouraged and our strength when we are afraid. Teach us to bring You our fears and not be afraid. Help us to rely on You, strengthen our faith, and guide us in Your truth. Like the petals of the peony flowers are gathered together reaching upward, let us gather our fears and reach upward in prayer to You. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Founded on Rock: Matthew 7:25

The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not collapse because it had been founded on rock.

Matthew 7:25 (NET)

In life, rain pours down, floods drench and devastate, and storm winds buffet against our houses and lives. A house founded on rock stands firm, and; a life founded on The Rock, Christ stands strong. A life dedicated to God, obedient to the Word, and guided by Christ’s teaching is not undermined or destroyed. In times of trial, faith lets us weather the storm, knowing God is with us.

Are you founded on Christ, “the Rock”? Does your faith help you weather life’s storms?

Prayer; Dear Lord, help us to grow in faith and follow Your ways. Like a house founded on rock survives the storm, a life founded on Christ can weather life’s storms. Like the rocks, shelter the red rose blossoms, let us learn to find shelter in Jesus, our rock and redeemer. Amen.
