Faith and Hope – Romans 8:24

24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? – Romans 8-24 (ESV)

The Apostle Paul is writing to the Jews and Gentiles in the early church in Rome. He is emphasizing that Christian salvation is rooted in hope. We need to have faith and trust God’s promises and to focus on Jesus, our hope.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

We place our trust in things that are not visible with hope, anticipating what is yet unseen. With faith, we have patience and perseverance, waiting in hope for what is unseen.

For we live by faith, not by sight. – 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)

With hope, we obtain the strength needed to face our path, which may be difficult, while we wait with hopeful anticipation for our glorious future in heaven.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Romans 8:18 (ESV)

Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your promises and love for us. We have faith in Your promises and anticipate with hope spending our future with You. Guide us on our path and give us the strength to push forward during difficult times. As we hope for the arrival of spring flowers after a cold winter, let us live in hope for our eternal heavenly future. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
