God’s faithfulness—Isaiah 46:4

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4 (NIV)

At the time Isaiah wrote this, the Israelis were exiles in Babylonian captivity. God, through Isaiah, reassures them, reminding them of God’s faithfulness, support, and care, even in old age. He is our constant companion; he will sustain us. God is eternal and unchangeable; He will carry us throughout our lives, as He always has. God is faithful to His people.

God made us and has plans for us; He guides our path. We can trust in His promises and find comfort in His unwavering presence. With each step we take, His love and guidance provide us with the strength to persevere through any trial. God will rescue us and deliver us from affliction and, at the end of life, take us home to live with Him in heaven.

For us, this verse serves as a reminder of God’s love and support from the beginning to the end. We can find comfort in His faithfulness, power, and grace. In every challenge, we can rely on His unwavering presence to guide us, strengthening our faith and inspiring us to share His love and hope with others.

I’ve been carrying you on my back from the day you were born,
And I’ll keep on carrying you when you’re old.  I’ll be there, bearing you when you’re old and gray. I’ve done it and will keep on doing it, carrying you on my back, saving you. – Isaiah 46:3b-4 (MSG)

Our Heavenly Father, we are in awe of Your love and care for us. Thank you for your grace, faithfulness, and support throughout our lives. Teach us to listen and follow Your path for us. Guide our steps and teach us Your way. Like the blossoms of the anemones open in the spring, let us open our hearts and blossom in Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

One Voice – Romans 15:6

5 May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.

6 Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6 (NLT)

In verse 6, Paul emphasizes the importance of unity among believers. He urges the church to maintain a united front by encouraging harmony, coming together in faith and worship, and glorifying God. His message calls for us to put aside our different origins and viewpoints and not judge one another, but rather share our faith in Jesus and work toward honoring God. To work together, communicate with understanding and love, and live together in peace.

When we worship in unity, harmonizing as if singing with one voice, we create a beautiful symphony of faith. This collective expression encourages growth and deepens our relationships with both God and one another.

Singing with one voice signifies unity—to come together in faith and worship, as well as the ability to live in harmony with one another in Christ.

God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next. May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all. Then we’ll be a choir—not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus! – Romans 15:4-6 (MSG)

Our Heavenly Father, please give us patience and encouragement to live in unity with one another. Help us to put aside our differences and get along with each other and act like Jesus. May we sing with one voice, joining together in faith and worship. Like the open and beautiful cosmos blossom, let us be open to Your voice and blossom in Your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Light in the Darkness – Psalm 112:4

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. – Psalm 112:4 (ERV)

Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness. Those who are upright are those who are pious, compassionate, and merciful. Even in the darkness of trouble, for Christians, light arises: the light of hope, God’s light in the darkness illuminating their path.

But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, growing brighter and brighter until full day. Proverbs 4:18 (NET)

The upright know God is good, they have faith in Him, and trust His promises. They reflect God’s character by being gracious, merciful, and righteous, even in times of adversity. Remaining steadfast in their faith, shining in His light, they become beacons of hope for others, demonstrating that true strength lies not in the absence of trials but in unwavering trust in God.

Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your grace and mercy toward us. You are our light in the darkness, guiding us on our path. Help us to become more Christlike in our actions. Like the sunflower blossom follows the sun, let us blossom in your love and follow Your Son. Amen.
