Wait – Psalm 130:5

I rely on the LORD, I rely on him with my whole being; I wait for his assuring word. Psalm 130:5 (NET)

With all my heart, I am waiting, LORD, for you! I trust your promises. Psalm 130:5 (CEV)

During our lifetime, we do a lot of waiting in doctors’ offices, in traffic, for repair people, and on hold.  Waiting on God is a unique kind of waiting.  It is an expectant waiting, a deliberate choice to wait, a waiting with hope, and trusting in God’s mercy, grace, and promises.

Different versions of the Bible describe the waiting on the Lord: with my whole being, with all my heart, and my soul waits. All of these show a strong, full-body desire for God’s help and guidance.  This kind of waiting invites us to cultivate patience and deepen our faith, allowing us to find peace amid uncertainty.

During challenging times or when facing uncertainties, it is essential to turn to God in prayer, trusting in Him and finding strength in His promises. This trust not only fortifies our spirit but also opens our hearts to receive the wisdom and comfort that come from a close relationship with Him.

Faith, hope, and patience all play a part in waiting for God’s divine guidance, assurance, and intervention. This journey of faith encourages us to remain steadfast, even when the path ahead seems unclear.

I pray to God—my life a prayer—
and wait for what he’ll say and do. Psalm 130:5 (MSG)

Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your grace and guidance. You are our hope and strength during difficult times. Teach us to patiently wait on You. To wait, with our whole heart and soul, trusting in Your promises and guidance. Like New Guinea impatiens blossom all summer, let us blossom in faith and always rely on You. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

Sing to the Lord a new song; celebrate His mighty work in our lives. We sing to express our gratitude and joy and to exhibit our love and thankfulness through praise. A new song means a need for new, fresh praise, sung with enthusiasm and gladness, celebrating His goodness to us.

We sing in gratitude for God’s marvelous, wonderful deeds, showcasing His love and faithfulness to us. He triumphs over evil, protects, forgives, and provides salvation to those who believe in Him.

May we worship and sing with new fervor, raising genuine praise daily for Your steadfast help and love. We are in awe of Your wisdom and power. Like the brightly colored petunia brings forth blossoms all summer, let us shine brightly with Your light and blossom in Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

God’s With Us – Psalm 73:23

23 Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.

Psalm 73:23 (NIV)

Verse 23 is referring to God; He is always with us. He is at our side, and we are never alone. God is with us during frustrations, hardships, as well as times of joy. We have a divine companion who loves us and holds our hand.

For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

We can rest easy knowing God is with us, even in our darkest moments, guiding us and giving us strength  and support.

I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8 (NIV)

We can lean on God and not fear or be shaken, for our trust in Him gives us stability. The Lord is looking out for us, giving us the courage and strength we require during times of trouble.

We don’t have to face challenges alone, for God is always with us.

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for always being with us. Guide us and direct us on our path. Teach us to keep our eyes on You, and reach out to You during times of trouble. Like the geranium flowers are gathered together in a bright cluster, let us be bright in our faith and gathered together in love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Know the Lord – Psalm 9:10

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:10 (NIV)

David encourages us to remember God’s goodness. He is our provider, strength, and refuge. To those who seek Him, He gives support, guidance, and love. When we pursue a relationship with the Lord, we feel His presence in our lives. When we grow in knowledge of the Lord, we develop a genuine trust, realizing His goodness and faithfulness. God’s justice and faithfulness assure us that God will guide and protect us.

As we grow in faith through prayer and a deeper understanding of His word, we see God’s character and nature and realize He will not forsake or abandon anyone who seeks Him. We can release our problems to Him, for God is always present in our lives; He is our refuge and strength.

Do you know the Lord? Do you put your trust in God and release your burdens to Him?

Our Heavenly Father, You are our hope and strength. Open our hearts and teach us to know You. Help us to grow closer to you through prayer and Your word, and grow in faith and trust. Exalt – Psalm 18:46

The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!

Psalm 18:46 (NIV)

David, in this psalm, is praising the Lord. The Lord lives; He is active, alive, and actively engaged in our lives. He listens to our prayers and is our hope and support when life is difficult.

Throughout David’s life, God was his rock, steadfast, an unmovable foundation, guiding us through life’s storms. God is our place of safety and security, where we can find refuge and strength.

To exalt the Lord means to raise up, to glorify, showing joy and reverence to Him. Exalting the Lord is to praise and worship Him, recognize the divine nature of God, and thank Him for His grace and salvation.

How has God been a rock in your life? Do you exalt God with worship, obedience, and in prayer?

Lord, You are our rock, our redeemer, our blessed hope. We exalt You and praise Your name. Lord, thank You for being with us, actively engaged in our lives, and answering our prayers. Like the regal iris brings brightness and joy to spring, You, our Lord, brighten our lives and bring joy to our days. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Seek Him -Psalm 63:1

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1 (ESV)

David was weary, thirsty, and pursued by enemies, and he longed for God. He earnestly seeks Him; His soul thirsts for the Lord. David’s first response when in dire need in the wilderness of Judah, a dry, parched land, was to turn to God. David’s priority was the Lord.
He states, “earnestly I seek you, for God; you are my God.” The dry, overwhelming desert he was facing in his life made David hunger and thirst for God, for His presence and grace.

God—you’re my God!
I can’t get enough of you!
I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God,
traveling across dry and weary deserts. Psalm 63:1 (MSG)

Only God can provide the comfort and sustenance we desperately need, when we face the parched weary deserts of life, He is with us.

2-4 So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open,
drinking in your strength and glory.
In your generous love I am really living at last! Psalm 63:2-4 (MSG)

Seeking God, thirsting for Him, drinking in His strength and glory, accepting His generous love, and making Him your priority, then you are really living at last.

Prayer: Oh Lord, our God, our Heavenly Father, we earnestly seek You. The deserts of life scorch and drain us our souls thirst for You. You are our strength and comfort, our salvation. As the Mandavilia flower opens in the sun, let our hearts be open and follow Your son Jesus. Amen

You Protect Me – Psalm 139:5

5 and with your powerful arm you protect me from every side. Psalm 139:5 (CEV)

David is explaining his confidence in God that God guards us on all sides. When we feel weak, the Lord strengthens us, protecting us from despair and anxiety. God is Omniscient; He has knowledge of all things and is Omnipresent everywhere we go He is present. He is always with us.

5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.

Psalm 139:5 (NLT)

God’s hand of blessing on our heads shows God’s compassion and gentle care. God’s hand of blessing upon us brings us grace, comfort, and strength. Our God is a loving Father who cares for, protects, and sustains His children.

6 I can’t understand all of this! Such wonderful knowledge is far above me.

Psalm 139:6 (CEV)

David continues in verse 6, stating God’s greatness, power, and knowledge is too vast for us to understand, too wonderful to take it all in. However, we can relax and put our trust in God.

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we are amazed by Your strength, power, grace, and love for us. We thank you for Your protection, compassion, and care. We are in awe of Your power and that You are with us everywhere we go. Like the hydrangea flower head, the little florets are not alone but gathered together; we are never alone, for God is with us and places a hand of blessing on our heads. We praise and worship You, our Omniscient, Omnipresent Lord. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

My Strength, My Song – Isaiah 12:2

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 (ESV)

Isaiah describes God’s goodness and that He is trustworthy. Isaiah has a deep faith and trust in God. For God keeps His promises and can protect and save us.

God is our strength; He gives us strength to endure our trials. Trust in Him dispels fear and brings peace. God is the embodiment of strength and joy.

The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation. – Psalm 118:14 and Exodus 15:2a (ESV)

The Lord is our strength, a source of joy, praise, and song.
He is my salvation, my strength, and my song. Let us sing praises to Him!

“Yes, indeed—God is my salvation.
    I trust, I won’t be afraid.
God—yes God!—is my strength and song,
best of all, my salvation!” – Isaiah 12:2 (MSG)

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, You are our hope and salvation. Teach us to trust You and follow Your path for us. You are our strength and song. Guide us, teaching us to rely on Your strength and power instead of our understanding. Like the Anemone flower brightens spring, let us shine bright with Your light and love. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Refuge and Shield-Psalm 119:114

You are my hiding place and my shield. I find hope in your word.

– Psalm 119:114 (NET)

Psalm 119 is a message of confidence and trust in the Lord. In times of trouble, the psalmist trusts the Lord, his refuge and shield. He is our hiding place, our safe place, our shield to protect us from danger, and our place of comfort during life’s storms.

Like the Psalmist, we can rest in God’s promises and put our hope in His divine word. During adversity, we can find hope and strength in God’s word. As the CEV version says, Your word is my only hope.

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, you are our refuge and shield. Thank you for Your compassion and grace toward us. You are our hope and our salvation. Your word guides, comforts, and assures us. As the colors of the hyacinth brighten spring days, Your promises bring hope and brighten our days. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Afraid – Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. – Psalm 56:3 (NIV)

David had confidence in God’s power to protect him and to fulfill His promises. He knew how God had helped him in the past. Instead of falling apart when his situation was dire, he trusted God. Instead of being self-reliant and self-confident, he was God-confident. In verse 11, David praises the Lord and restates that his trust in God is greater than his fear.

10 In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise— 11 in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? – Psalm 56:10-11

Fear encourages us to run, to escape. Faith helps us realize that God is with us and He is greater than our fear.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)

So fear not; do not be afraid, for God will strengthen you and help you.

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, You are our hope and our salvation. Teach us to trust You, especially when we are overwhelmed and afraid. Help us turn to You rather than try to deal with problems on our own. Like the opening petals of the daisy flowers reach upward, let us open our hearts to You and reach out to You in prayer. In Jesus’ loving and holy name. Amen
