Call on Me – Jeremiah 33:3

2“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: 3‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:2-3

During the time of the prophet Jeremiah, the nation of Judah was in turmoil. The people had turned away from God, and they were under threat of a Babylonian invasion. God chose Jeremiah to send a message of warning to the people of Judah, urging them to repent. The message was also one of hope.

For the Lord says, “Call on me in prayer, and I will answer you. God is asking us to have faith, rely on Him, and go to Him in prayer. It is an invitation to communicate with God, stating that He is willing to listen and answer you. When we rely on God and His infinite wisdom, it encourages us to open our hearts and have a deeper connection with Him.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how fathomless his ways! Romans 11:3 (NET)

If we put our faith and trust in God, He will answer our prayers and show us things we could never imagine. God reveals wonders beyond what we can understand. Because He cares for us, when we call on Him, He gives us wisdom, guidance, and help when we need it most.

1While Jeremiah was still locked up in jail, a second Message from God was given to him: 2-3 “This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’ Jeremiah 33:2-3 (MSG)

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for listening to and answering our prayers. Help us to grow in faith and to follow Your divine guidance. Teach us to go to You with our concerns and problems and trust in Your infinite wisdom. Like the bright, colorful vinca flowers spread and flourish on summer days, let us shine bright with Your light and flourish in Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

Give Thanks and Praise – Ephesians 5:20

Be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,  20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

– Ephesians 5:18b – 20 (NKJV)

Paul is telling the Ephesians to be filled with the Spirit, to joyfully speak to one another with the words of psalms and hymns. To make a melody in their heart to the Lord; to praise the Lord.

A Spirit-filled believer regularly gives thanks and praise for all God has done and is doing for them. They are filled with gratitude, giving thanks to Him. Thanks, always, and for all things to God for His grace, mercy, and blessings.

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.- John 15-16 (NIV)

We pray to God the Father, in the name of Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Giving thanks and praise helps us shift our focus from our struggles to the goodness of God. When we thank Him, we stay grounded in faith, trusting God’s plans for us, and find peace.

Lord, we praise and thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace toward us. We lift our voices to You in hymns and spiritual songs, praising Your name. Guide our thoughts and steps. Like the forsythia plant blooms every spring, let us be grounded and bloom in faith. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Pray in the Spirit – Ephesians 6:18

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. -Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

Paul is writing to the Christians in Ephesus, in prior verses, urging them to take up the full armor of God to stand firm against evil. This verse stresses prayer is important in spiritual battles. Prayer is our way of communicating with God and connects us to the power of God.

Praying in the Spirit is praying in the power and as directed by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit will never lead us to pray in a way that is contrary to the Word of God.

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Colossians 4:2 (NLT)

Prayer is not just for our needs and issues; it is also important to keep praying with all kinds of prayers and requests for God’s people.

Pray without ceasing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

We must be alert, pray often with perseverance, and pray without ceasing.

God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

-Ephesians 6:18 (MSG)

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, teach us to stand firm against evil. Guide us to put on your full armor of protection, stand strong in faith, and pray in the Spirit. Help us to pray often and with perseverance. Like the flowers on the rhododendron, gather together; let us gather together in love, praying for one another. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Prayer: James 5:16

Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

James 5:16 (ISV)

Prayer is communication with God. Prayers don’t need to be fancy or long. Prayer is an incredible privilege; through it we can communicate with the creator of the universe, who listens to us and answers us.

“Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference.”

Max Lucado

It is important to confess our sins because sin and unforgiveness can block the effectiveness of our prayers. God calls us to pray for others, reflecting God’s characteristics of love, mercy, and healing. Prayer exhibits our faith and dependence on God.

Prayer was a priority in Jesus’ life. He often arose early went away to somewhere quiet and prayed.

When a believing person prays, great things happen.

James 5:16b (NCV)

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective! Through prayer we seek God, and we receive comfort, guidance, peace, and God’s transforming power in our lives. When we approach prayer with thankfulness, thanking God for His countless blessings and mercy, we cultivate a heart of love and gratitude.

“Prayer is the way you defeat the devil, reach the lost, restore a backslider, strengthen the saints, send missionaries out, cure the sick, accomplish the impossible, and know the will of God.”

David Jeremiah

In prayer, we communicate with God, seek His guidance and strength in times of weakness, find comfort, and experience healing and His mighty transforming power.

The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.

James 5:16b (MSG)

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for the privilege of reaching out to You in prayer. We thank You for listening to and answering our prayers. You bless us with Your mercy, grace, and love. Help us find our divine appointments and healing as we pray for each other. As the white waterlily blossoms reach upward, let us reach upward to You in prayer and thanksgiving. In Jesus’ loving name. Amen

Endurance and Encouragement: Romans 15:5

Romans 15:5

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,

Romans 15:5 (NIV)

God is a source of endurance and encouragement. He will help us to keep going, following His path for us. God is patient and forgiving. He lifts us with encouragement and with endurance to keep moving forward. Paul is encouraging the church in Rome to get along; live in harmony. To act like Jesus did, glorifying God, showing patience, and compassion to others. With God’s endurance and encouragement, we can work together, with unity.

Do you look to God for endurance and encouragement? Are you patient, compassionate, and forgiving to others like Jesus?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for encouraging us, forgiving us, and giving us the endurance to move forward. Teach us to be patient, forgiving, and compassionate like Jesus was. Encourage us to be tolerant and work together in unity. Like the white rhododendron petals are gathered together around the flower center, let us gather together in love, centered on Jesus. Amen

Transformed: Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2 (NIV)

To be transformed is to respond to the grace of God, His mercy, His forgiveness, and to be changed. To be changed in how we think, and act, to renew our minds, to what is God’s will for us. To listen and conduct our lives in a Godly way instead of a worldly self-centered way. To determine what God’s purpose is for us, and discern His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Has your mind been transformed, renewed, from worldly ways to God’s purpose, His path?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Help us to discern Your way, renew our minds, and transform our lives to fit Your good and perfect will. Teach us to use our lives for Your purpose and not just our own. As the flowers of the butterfly weed are transformed into beautiful dispersing seed pods, let us be transformed by You to show, and disperse Your goodness and Your way. In Jesus’ holy and loving name. Amen

Loyal Love: Psalm 59:16

As for me, I will sing about your strength; I will praise your loyal love in the morning. For you are my refuge and my place of shelter when I face trouble.

Psalm 59:16 (NET)

Psalm 59 was written by David, it is a prayer for delivery and protection from his enemies. In verse 16, the psalm becomes a song of assurance, praising the Lord for His past mercies and grace, exhibiting David’s confidence in God. Like David, let us remember, to proclaim/sing, of God’s strength, protection, and His loyal love for us. God is our refuge, a place of shelter in times of trouble, and our strength. Let us remember to give thanks praising the Lord for His loyal love every morning, afternoon, and evening.

When doubt and fear trouble your mind, do you take time to praise the Lord for His loyal love?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we praise you for your love, forgiveness, and protection. Help us to grow in faith to trust You, rely on Your Strength, and remember your past mercies. Lord, we thank you for being our refuge and place of shelter when we face trouble. We praise You for Your loyal love and compassion. Like the petunias bright stripes radiate from the center of the blossom, let us radiate Your loyal love from our heart center to those around us. In Jesus’ loving and holy name. Amen

If you would like or need prayer, I will be glad to pray for you.

Everlasting: Psalm 90:1-2

Dahlia

1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world,

from everlasting to everlasting you are God

Psalm 90:1-2 (NIV)

What a wonderful feeling to know that God is everlasting, and He rules from eternity to eternity. He is our protector during life’s storms and offers us His unconditional love. He guides us along our path and forgives us of our sins. Plus, His gift to believers is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord (Romans 6:23). We are blessed!

Where can you share God’s everlasting goodness today?

Prayer: Lord, we praise you for your everlasting goodness, forgiveness, and unconditional love through the ages. Dahlias bright, beautiful blooms, bring joy to our days like your everlasting love brings joy, hope, and peace to our lives. We are blessed to have an everlasting caring, God, who has been our shield and dwelling place for generations. In the holy name of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

What I desire: Psalm 27:4

Clematis Vine and Flower

I have asked the LORD for one thing—

this is what I desire! I want to live in the LORD’s house

all the days of my life, so I can gaze at the splendor.

Psalm 27:4 New English Translation (NET Bible)

What I desire, is to live in the Lord’s house all the days of my life. My first response is Amen. Then when I continue and read the NIV version of this verse, it says, “to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” Wow! Yes, this is my goal, my dream, and my hope. Can you even imagine?

Who or what has influenced your growth in the path toward God’s kingdom?

Prayer: Dear Lord, let our faith be bold and bright like the clematis flowers. Like the clematis plant twines around its support, lead us to pursue your path, and to rejoice in your splendor. Lord help us obtain our desire to live in Your house all the days of our life. In Jesus’s holy name. Amen.
