Noel: Unto us a Child is born…

Noel or Noël comes ultimately from the Latin natalis via Anglo-Norman and Middle French. Originally an exclamation of joy at the birth of Christ, in the middle ages it was also used to refer to the Christmas period.

Noel (lyrics)
written by, Chris Tomlin

Love incarnate, love divine
Star and angels gave the sign
Bow to babe on bended knee
The Savior of humanity
Unto us a Child is born
He shall reign forevermore
Noel, Noel

Come and see what God has done
Noel, Noel
The story of amazing love!
The light of the world, given for us
Noel
Son of God and Son of man
There before the world began
Born to suffer, born to save
Born to raise us from the grave
Christ the everlasting Lord
He shall reign forevermore
Noel, Noel
Come and see what God has done
Noel, Noel

The story of amazing love!
The light of the world, given for us
Noel
Noel, Noel

Come and see what God has done
Noel, Noel
The story of amazing love!
The light of the world, given for us
Noel

True Light: John 1:9

The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

John 1:9 (NLT)

There it was—the true Light [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] which, coming into the world, enlightens everyone.

John 1:9 (AMP)

John chapter one introduces Jesus and establishes that Christ was one with God. Jesus is the one, the true light. He is the source of light eternal, perfect light. For Jesus is the light of the world, in Him there is no darkness. Jesus gives light to everyone, enlightening all, with His teachings, His actions, His love. We reflect the light of Christ by believing in Him, spreading His Word, and sharing His love with others.

Are you walking in true light and reflecting it to others?

Prayer; God, Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your Son, Jesus, the true light, illuminating the darkness. Let us follow His teaching and actions and be enlightened. Teach us to reflect His light, and share His love with others. Like the vibrant, pure scented gardenia blossom, help us to be vibrant in our love for others and pure in our faith. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Light of Christ: 2 Corinthians 4:5-6

Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we’re proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, “Light up the darkness!” and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.

2 Corinthians 4:5-6 (MSG)

In Paul’s writing to the Corinthians, he explains that the Message he brings in not about him. He is only a messenger of Jesus Christ the Lord. In the beginning, God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:4). To fill our lives with His light, God gave us His Son, Jesus Light of the World, and the light of eternal life. From Christ’s face, God’s glory shines bright and beautiful. With Jesus as our Light, we never will walk in spiritual darkness. His true light illuminates our hearts, encouraging us to spread spiritual light, the Word, to others.

Our message is not about ourselves. It is about Jesus Christ as the Lord. We are your servants for his sake. We are his servants because the same God who said that light should shine out of darkness has given us light. For that reason we bring to light the knowledge about God’s glory which shines from Christ’s face.

2 Corinthians 4:5-6(GW)

Are you illuminated with the light of Christ?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for filling our lives with the light of Christ. May our paths be illuminated by Christ, the Light of the World. May His glory shine brightly in our hearts. Like the petals of the geranium glow in the sunlight, help us to glow with Your light. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen
