See Clearly? 1 Corinthians 13:12

Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

In this verse, Paul compares our present and partial knowledge of God to seeing a reflection in an obscure mirror; the reflection is blurry. Our current knowledge and spiritual gifts give us only a glimpse of God’s wisdom and knowledge.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

In the future, when God comes to live in our midst, we shall see clearly, with perfect clarity. For we will see be able to see God face to face. Then we will know everything completely, just as He knows us completely.

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, how great are Your wisdom and knowledge! We thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help us to grow in faith and rely on You, trusting Your promises. We wait for the day when we will see You clearly, Lord, face to face. Morning: Psalm 143:8

David is praying to God for protection and deliverance in Psalm 143 and; appealing for guidance. He requests: Lord hear my prayer; listen to my cry for mercy.

He continues in verse 8; Wake me Lord; every morning; Let me hear of Your gracious unfailing love. For weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Lord, in You I trust.

For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Lord, my hope is in you; let me know the path I should take; guide me. Teach me thy will, and help me to understand and live accordingly. My hope is in You. In the morning, I will rest in your gracious love; for great is thy faithfulness. ⁂

Do you reach out to the Lord in the morning, embracing His gracious unfailing love?

Prayer; Lord, we trust in You; we pray with hope and thanksgiving. We ask for Your guidance and direction. Hear our prayer for protection and deliverance from evil. Teach us to listen each morning and hear your promise of unfailing love. You are our hope, Lord; direct us on the path we should take. Our Plans: Proverbs 16:9

We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

We often try to control and fine-tune our plans to the way we want. Forming plans for the future is wise, but often our plans are limiting; God can direct us to achieve abundantly more than we ever considered. In humility, we need to realize that God is in control and determining our steps. The best way to plan is to commit our way to God, trusting him to direct us. He will guide us on the correct path, the way best for us, in this world, and eternally.

When in your life has God changed your plans for the better?

Prayer; Our loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and patience. Teach us to open our hearts to You and to listen to Your direction. Love Life: 1 Peter 3:10

10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. 11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.

To love life during hard times and trials requires a deliberate attitude of faith, trusting that the Lord is in control. These verses in 1 Peter are quotes from David’s Psalm 34:12-14.

12 Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.

In these verses, David and Peter are encouraging us to have a positive attitude; to realize that God is with us always. Our job is to keep our tongues away from evil and our lips away from deceitful speech. Turning away from evil and doing good while pursuing peace causes the Lord to look on us with approval and be attentive to our prayers.

12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

It is up to us to make the most of our time on earth, take time to love life, have a thankful heart, embrace good and turn away from evil. ⁘

Jesus is the same forever: Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

In this turbulent, fast-changing world, it is good to know that Jesus Christ, our Savior is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus never changes, and neither does His Gospel. God never changes; neither does His Word, truth, or promises. Men have changes in mind, attitude, and priorities, but Jesus is steadfast for us in His love, His forgiveness, and His salvation. We can rely on Him; He is our strength and security in this turbulent world.

For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
Hebrews 13:5b

Jesus is as faithful as He has always been; we can have confidence that He will continue to take care of us, He will not abandon us. He is our High Priest at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for us yesterday, today, and forever.

When you are overwhelmed by the news and worry about changing policies, do you find peace in knowing that Jesus Christ and His love are the same yesterday, today, and forever?

Prayer; Jesus, we thank you for caring for us and listening to our prayers. We are in awe of your steadfast unchanging love, your comfort, and your everlasting peace. When the word is turbulent; and we are confused, teach us to put our trust in You. We know we can rely on You, for You will not forsake us. The flowers in bloom vary with the seasons, but you are constant in our lives; the same yesterday, today, and forever. We are grateful that You will never fail us or abandon us. Amen

Future: Psalm 37:5

Psalm 37; considered a wisdom psalm, sharing practical advice about how to live. It was written by David, in his older years. He advises us to trust in the Lord, take delight in the Lord, and commit our future to the Lord. To commit our future is an act of will, an act of faith; it is to believe in the Lord and follow His way, and to make His way our way. Letting God guide our steps, commit our future, letting go of trusting our abilities, and being patient; rest, trust, and lay our worries and burdens on Him.

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and care for us. Let us grow in faith, open our hearts, trust in You, and commit our future to you. Lord, teach us to go to you in prayer, with our worries and concerns, and to put our trust in You. Christ in Your Heart: Ephesians 3:17

Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

When we trust in Christ, He will make a home in our hearts. With our open hearts, we can view others with God’s love, forgiveness, and acceptance. With Christ in our hearts, love abounds. Allowing us to be rooted, firmly established, like a tree in the soil, our roots ground us in God’s wonderful love, keeping us strong.

Do you trust in the Lord? Has Christ made a home in your heart?

Prayer: Lord, open our eyes and our hearts to You. Help us to grow in faith, to trust in Christ, and let Him dwell in our hearts. Let us be firmly rooted in Your Word and Your love. Fill us, with Your kindness, compassion, and strength, to move forward in Your love. Like the caladiums stems and roots keep the heart shape leaves upright, let our hearts be open, and the roots in God’s love carry us on an upright Christ-like path. In Jesus’ loving and holy name. Trust in the Lord: Isaiah 26:4

“Trust in the LORD forever, for in the LORD GOD you have an everlasting rock.”

Trust in the Lord is believing in Him and His Word realizing that He is all-knowing, all-powerful, and is present everywhere. God is omnipresent, unchangeable, and has everlasting strength. He is our eternal rock, our Rock of Ages. In Him, we find protection and shelter He provides us with rock-solid security. When we rely on God, we find internal peace.

Where do you need to trust in the Lord to let go of anxiety and let God handle it?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, our protector, and rock show us Your way, and surround us with your protection. Guide our path and teach us to trust in You. Like the silver Artemisia plants adjoin the rock, help us to reach out and cling to You our Rock when we are anxious and afraid. Let us learn to rest in Your love and protection. In Jesus’ holy name.
