creeping phlox in bloom
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Colossians 3:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
You have been raised to a new life with Christ, so set your hearts on things above. Focus on Jesus, who is seated at the right hand of God. Give all your anxious and troubled thoughts to Christ. Rather than dwelling on earthly things, instead, focus your attention on God, and spiritual thoughts. Let your actions reflect compassion, patience, and love for one another.
As Christians, you have been raised to a new life in Christ. When change comes, when the news is depressing and anxiety abounds, what is your mind set on?
Prayer: Our Father, we thank You for giving us a new life in Christ. Let our hearts and minds be set on things above us. Like the abundant star-like blossoms of the phlox, encourage us to blossom, reach towards the stars, and Your heavenly kingdom. Teach us to be more like Jesus, and act with compassion and love toward one another. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
How blessed we are to be new people with a new life in Christ. We can help draw others to Him because He lives in us and through us. Thank you for the prayer.

Hi Dawn, I agree, we are blessed, forgiven, and given a new life in Christ. In turn, we need to show others God’s forgiveness, love, and mercy.

These little blooms are also part of my summer garden here in rural NL. 🤗

Hi Sally, it is great to hear from you! The photo is from my garden, last spring, the phlox will bloom again (Eastern US) here in a couple of weeks. As you probably can tell I love gardening, flowers, and prayer.

I join with you in this prayer, Jeanne. I love Colossians 3. I think of it as my “where to look, what to wear, and what to think on” chapter. Our wardrobe is like no other, as we put on: “compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience….” Thank you for always bringing the truth and beauty of God’s Word! ♥

Jacquie, I agree this is my 4th post using different verses from Colossians 3. It instructs us on how to live Christ-like lives, and worship with grateful hearts. Thank you for your kind words and your wonderful compassion for children.

May we set our hearts and minds on Him especially at this time. What a blessing and privilege to know that He is our Father and He is there for us. May we rest in His peace and provision at this time and open our eyes to the opportunity to reflect His love to others.
Blessings 😊💙
