Walk – 1 John 2:6

Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. – 1 John 2:6 (BSB)

This was written by John to early Christians. He is emphasizing the importance of leading a genuine Christian life. To abide in Jesus means to be a true follower of Him and to have a continuous, faithful, enduring relationship with Him.

A true follower of Jesus conducts themselves in a way that embodies the actions and teachings of Christ. They live their daily life emulating Jesus’ humility, compassion, love, and obedience to God. By prayer, studying scripture, and guidance from the Holy Spirit, we can learn to walk as Jesus walked.

To walk like Jesus means to show His love, obedience, compassion, and forgiveness in everything we do. When we walk as Jesus walked, we demonstrate to the world His love.

Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Help us to walk as You walked, spreading compassion and love. Teach us to be humble, faithful, and obedient. Guide us on our path. Like gardenias, which faithfully and beautifully blossom each spring, let us faithfully follow you and blossom with Your love. Amen.

  4. When we walk as Jesus walked, we demonstrate to the world His love- it truly is a life long journey of learning to be more like Him and reflect Him in all things. Great reminder Jeanne 😊💕
