Right and Good: Psalm 97:11

11 Light is spread like seed for those who are right and good, and joy for the pure in heart.

Psalm 97:11 (NLV)

Light is sown for the right and good (righteous), along their life’s path. Being right and good is the quality of being and doing right in the eyes of God. Christ the light of the world, illuminates our way step by step and guides our feet. Hearts controlled by the Holy Spirit, the pure in heart, lead to the path of light that produces comfort and a harvest joy. Lord, we thank You for illuminating our path and Your forgiveness, love, and mercy.

Where is their darkness in your world? Where is illumination by the right and good needed?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and forgiveness. Teach us to be right and good and illuminate our path with Your light. Help us to be pure in heart, and experience the joy that following Christ brings. As the calibrachoa flowers bring brightness and joy to us, let us be right and good spreading light, love, and joy to others. In Jesus’ holy and mighty name. Amen

Christ in Your Heart: Ephesians 3:17

Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

Ephesians 3:17  (NLT)

When we trust in Christ, He will make a home in our hearts. With our open hearts, we can view others with God’s love, forgiveness, and acceptance. With Christ in our hearts, love abounds. Allowing us to be rooted, firmly established, like a tree in the soil, our roots ground us in God’s wonderful love, keeping us strong.

Do you trust in the Lord? Has Christ made a home in your heart?

Prayer: Lord, open our eyes and our hearts to You. Help us to grow in faith, to trust in Christ, and let Him dwell in our hearts. Let us be firmly rooted in Your Word and Your love. Fill us, with Your kindness, compassion, and strength, to move forward in Your love. Like the caladiums stems and roots keep the heart shape leaves upright, let our hearts be open, and the roots in God’s love carry us on an upright Christ-like path. In Jesus’ loving and holy name. Amen

Walk in the Light: 1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 1:7 (NIV)

God is light in Him there is no darkness. To walk in the light is to follow God’s teaching and align our lives with God’s Word. Light is a symbol of purity, holiness, and goodness. Walking in the Light is a progressive and continuing motion along a God-centered path. Christ’s blood purifies us of sin, allowing us to walk in the light and unite together in fellowship and love.

Is your walk in the light a progressive, forward walk?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, teach us to persevere and continually move forward, walking in the light. Let your Word guide us, transforming us into children of light, bringing love, and fellowship to those around us. As the drift roses glow with sunlight after rain, teach us to glow and walk in the light dispersing darkness and bringing light to those around us. In Jesus’ loving and holy name. Amen

A New Heart: Ezekiel 36:26

26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

Ezekiel 36:26 (NLT)

A stony, stubborn heart one hardened by sin, and selfishness can be changed, renewed by the Lord. With His love, mercy, and grace He can open and soften a heart of stone. The Holy Spirit infuses us with love and leads us from a self-centered life into a God-centered life, and to a new heart that is compassionate, and tender.

Where do you need God to open your heart and to give you a new and more responsive heart?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, open our hearts to Your Word and ways. Thank you, for being tendered hearted to us, teach us to be tenderhearted to others. Take away our stony, stubborn, self-centered hearts and replace them with new hearts that are loving and caring. Like the sunflower blossoms are different but join together into a beautiful display, teach us to join together, displaying love and compassion for each other. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Pure in Heart: Matthew 5:8

“Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God.

Matthew 5:8  (AMP)

The heart is considered a symbol of love, but often the heart values may be corrupt. Jesus said that about the Pharisees, they projected outward purity, but their hearts and thoughts were not pure. To be pure in heart, we need to obey the Lord’s rules, to follow His will, and to live a life pleasing to God. Then we will see Him and be with Him in eternity.

Are you pure in heart, or is your heart focused instead on earthly material objects?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, forgive us for our hearts are often not pure, and our values and motives not godly. We ask you to help us to focus on living a life that is pleasing to You. Lord teach us to be pure in heart. Like the bleeding heart flowers open and expand as they bloom, teach us to open our hearts to You and expand in love toward one another. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen
