Jesus is the same forever: Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Hebrews 13:8 (NLT)

In this turbulent, fast-changing world, it is good to know that Jesus Christ, our Savior is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus never changes, and neither does His Gospel. God never changes; neither does His Word, truth, or promises. Men have changes in mind, attitude, and priorities, but Jesus is steadfast for us in His love, His forgiveness, and His salvation. We can rely on Him; He is our strength and security in this turbulent world.

For God has said, โ€œI will never fail you. I will never abandon you.โ€

Hebrews 13:5b

Jesus is as faithful as He has always been; we can have confidence that He will continue to take care of us, He will not abandon us. He is our High Priest at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for us yesterday, today, and forever.

When you are overwhelmed by the news and worry about changing policies, do you find peace in knowing that Jesus Christ and His love are the same yesterday, today, and forever?

Prayer; Jesus, we thank you for caring for us and listening to our prayers. We are in awe of your steadfast unchanging love, your comfort, and your everlasting peace. When the word is turbulent; and we are confused, teach us to put our trust in You. We know we can rely on You, for You will not forsake us. The flowers in bloom vary with the seasons, but you are constant in our lives; the same yesterday, today, and forever. We are grateful that You will never fail us or abandon us. Amen

My Help: Psalm 121: 1-2

1I lift up my eyes to the mountainsโ€”

where does my help come from?

2My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121: 1-2 (NIV)

This psalm is considered a song of ascent used by pilgrims traveling upward through the hills to Jerusalem. It also is a blessing for travelers leaving on a journey. Verse one is a poetic question, where does my help come from? The second verse is the answer; “My help comes from the Lord.” Yes, our help comes from the Lord; if we rely on Him, He will watch over us, and He will protect us. As verse 3 states: “He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber;” The Lord is the creator of heaven and earth, He is mighty, vigilant, He will watch over us, He will help us. When we face trouble, God will protect us, and He is with us, His light illuminating the darkness.

God is waiting for you to call out to Him. When you face trouble, do you reach out to God for help?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love, protection, and guidance. You are our hope, our salvation, and our help in time of need. Lord, teach us to turn toward You and rely on Your great power. Let us proclaim that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Like the open and vibrant weigela blossoms, let us be open to God’s love and His power and be vibrant in our faith. For our help comes from the Lord. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Rely on the Lord: Psalm 27:14

Rely on the LORD! Be strong and confident! Rely on the LORD!

Psalm 27:14 (NET) a psalm of David

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. (NIV)

Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

Being patient and waiting are not favorite pastimes of mine. However, in troubling times, it is important to be patient and rely on God. Rely means to depend on with full trust or confidence. Life can seem overwhelming, confusing, and frightening, but we can be confident and depend on God. With faith and patient endurance, we wait on the Lord, and He strengthens our hearts and guides us. Yes, as David did, we also can rely on the Lord and be strong and confident!

When you are concerned and overwhelmed, where do you find your strength? Do you rely on the Lord?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for your blessing and guidance. Help us to grow in faith and learn to rely on You. Teach us to be patient, and strong. Like the flowers of the azalea, rely on You for sunlight, and water, teach us to rely on You and grow in confidence, and strength. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen
