Patient in Faith: Isaiah 30:18

18 Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
    therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
    Blessed are all who wait for him!

Isaiah 30:18 (NIV)

Blessed are all who wait for the Lord. In Isaiah verses 15-17, the people of Judah were relying on their way, fleeing to Egypt instead of listening to God. Wait in verse 18 is not just the passing of time but also to rely on God, being patient in faith, trusting Him, while waiting for Him to act. The Lord is a God of justice. He wants us to listen to Him, grow in faith, and seek His way. Grace and compassion are shown to those who faithfully wait for the Lord.

Have you been rushing forward, following your own ways, instead of being patient, listening, and waiting in faith?

Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, open our hearts and minds to listen to You. Teach us to be patient and wait in faith for Your direction. Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with Your grace and compassion. Let our faith be centered, on You like the clustered center petals of the camellia, and our hearts open to You like the flower’s outer open petals. In Jesus’ holy and loving name. Amen

  1. I like what you said – Wait in verse 18 is not just the passing of time but also to rely on God, being patient in faith, trusting Him, while waiting for Him to act.

    May we wait with patience, trust and faith in Him.
