Lord, You are Good: Psalm 139:1-6

1 O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand! Psalm 139:1-6 (NLT)

Lord, you know me, you have examined my heart, you know my thoughts, you know everything I do. You love me with unconditional love; you stand beside me and guide me. You place your hand of blessing on my head and forgive me. Lord, You are good. Your greatness God touches my life; you care about me and direct me on Your path. Through You, I understand who and whose I am. Lord, You created us, know us, bless us, are with us, and care for us. Lord, we are in awe of You, Your power, divine knowledge, and wisdom. Our purpose is to glorify You, Lord, in all we do.

Lord, You are great, Lord, You are good, Lord, You are all-knowing. Do you take time to reach out and let the greatness of God touch and direct your life?

Prayer; Lord, You are our Heavenly Father; You know us and love us. We thank you for Your forgiveness, love, grace, and mercy. Lord, You are good. We worship You with awe and reverence. We praise Your Holy name. We revere Your patience, Your blessing, and Your guidance. Like the beauty of the three, lily blossoms brighten days; let us dwell in the beauty and glory of our three in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all our days. Amen

Glory and Majesty: Jude 1:24-25

24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Jude 1 24:25 (NIV)

Jude praises God, our Savior, and encourages us. First, he describes what God can do for us; prevent us from stumbling and present us before His glorious presence without fault. In God’s presence, we will rejoice and find great joy. Then Jude describes God’s attributes; His majesty (magnificence and sovereign power), His dominion (authority), and His glory (greatness, honor). God so loved us that He gave us Jesus, our mediator, our salvation. Our Lord has been here from the beginning, is here now, and forever. These verses often are used as a doxology or benediction.

Have you taken time to worship and praise God? His majesty, glory, and love abound.

Prayer; Lord, we thank you for your forgiveness and mercy to us. We praise and worship you; Your glory is abundant, Your majesty abounds, and Your power is mighty. Guide us in Your truth and teach us Your ways. Like the open flowers of the lilies reach toward the sun, let us be open to Your direction and reach forward toward Your path for us. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Lord, Your love: Psalm 36:5-7

5 Lord, your love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithful love reaches up to the skies.
6 Your holiness is as great as the height of the highest mountains.
You are as honest as the oceans are deep.
Lord, you keep people and animals safe.
7 How priceless your faithful love is!
People find safety in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 36:5-7 (NIRV)

Psalm 36 verses 1-4 David is concerned about wicked people; who are evil, rebellious, embrace sin, and have no fear of God. In contrast in verses, 5-7 David, describes the Lord, His love is vast as the heavens, His faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds, His righteousness is mighty like the mountains and, His justice deep like the ocean. The Lord is compassionate; He cares for all His people and all the creatures of the earth. In Luke 12:6: Jesus says, What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. He cares for all His creation; all humanity finds shelter in the shadow of God’s wings. Lord, we worship and praise You; Your Love is as high as the heavens. Your faithful love reaches up to the skies. You are all-powerful and almighty.

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.
7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter
in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 36:5-7 (NLT)

Lord, Your love is as high as the heavens, and Your faithful love reaches the sky. The wicked may have temporary success, but our almighty God will shelter the godly in the shadow of His wings and reward the righteous.

Have you found love, hope, and shelter in the shadow of God’s wings?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, You are our hope, our strength, and our salvation. Lord, teach us to cling to Your promises, bask in Your love, and know You are in control. Help us to open our hearts, transmit Your light, and share Your love with others. Like the Gomphrena fireworks, bright flower petals radiate in all directions; let us brighten the world by radiating Your love. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

This is a hymn/psalm of David, his rejoicing with a thankful heart. This hymn; was sung when the ark arrived in Jerusalem. It was a praise hymn to rejoice and glorify God to proclaim His holy name. It was a hymn of remembrance of the wonders the Lord has performed. It was a reminder to seek the Lord and His strength. A reminder for the people to give thanks and continuously seek the Lord. It reminds us that it is good to give thanks and remember all that God had done for us. To share and make known to all God’s marvelous works and wonders.

Perfect Love: 1 John 4:12

12 No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us – perfect love!

1 John 4:12 (MSG)

We haven’t seen God’s image physically, but it was displayed in Jesus’ life. God, through the Holy Spirit, dwells within the hearts of His people. When we abide in Him, He transforms us until His love becomes complete in us; and we move away from worldly action becoming, more Christ-like. We are transformed and act with love and compassion; His love completes us – perfect love! Let us be recognized as Christians by our love.

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God resides in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1 John 4:12 (NET)

Do others see God in you, by your love? Are you striving to be more Christ-like and perfected in love?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we might not see you, but we feel your presence and are comforted by You. Thank You for Your love and compassion for us. Lord, teach us to be open-hearted and abide in You. Guide us to learn from and submit to the Holy Spirit to live in truth, so Your love becomes complete in us. Like violets are recognized by their delicate purple flowers, let us be recognized through our Christ-like actions and perfected love for one another.

Dwell in the House of the Lord: Psalm 27:4

One thing I have asked of the LORD, and that I will seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD [in His presence] all the days of my life, To gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.

Psalm 27:4 (AMP)

David’s prayer and life priority were to have a deep relationship with the Lord. He was seeking to be in close communication with God; he longed to be closer to Him, for he wanted to dwell in the house to the Lord, to set up residency for all the days of his life. David longed to behold and to gaze upon the beauty, glorious majesty, of God. To be able to meditate in the gracious presence of the Lord. To take time to praise and worship His power, mercy, and grace. What a beautiful sight it will be for faithful followers to behold the beauty of the Lord.

Are you asking and seeking to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of your life?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for your grace and love. We seek to be near to You. We ask to dwell in Your house, the house of the Lord, all the days of our life. We long to experience the wonder and to behold the beauty of You, Lord. Like the beauty of butterflies and flowers brighten spring, seeking the beauty of Your kingdom brightens our days. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Declare His Glory: Psalm 96:1-3

A Song of Praise

Oh, sing to the Lord a new song!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
3 Declare His glory among the [a]nations,
His wonders among all peoples.

Psalm 96 1-3 (NKJV)

Psalm 96 is a praise song, a song of good news, and a song of joy. It was written during the time David brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. The people were encouraged to sing to the Lord, a new song for God’s wondrous works. To sing in praise and with thanksgiving. Let us join in the chorus and sing to the Lord.

Psalm 96 is sometimes referred to as the “missionary psalm” since it encourages us to declare God’s glory among the nations to all people. Declare to all, the Glory of God, and proclaim the good news of God’s salvation. Lord let our thoughts, words, and deeds praise you.

The new year is a great time to thank the Lord, praise Him, and proclaim the good news. Will you take time and declare His wonders and glory?

Prayer; Our Heavenly Father, we raise our voices in praise and thanksgiving for all you have done for us. We thank You for Your forgiveness, grace, and mercy. We praise You for Your love and compassion. We proclaim the good news of Your salvation and declare Your Glory to all. Like the petals radiate on the chrysanthemum flower, let us radiate Your light and love to all people. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen

Glory to God in the Highest: Luke 2:13-14

11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:11-14 (KJV)

An angel announced to the shepherds watching their sheep by night, the birth of Christ the Lord. Then a multitude of heavenly hosts appeared praising God with glory; He gave His Son to be our Savior. The angels were worshiping the birth of Christ, the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in the manger. God’s goodwill and love gave birth to the Savior, the Prince of Peace, to bring peace for all. Gloria in Excelsis Deo is Latin for “Glory to God in the Highest.” Let us remember to worship our Father in heaven and let our hearts focus on the gift of Jesus, our Savior.

Christmas Carol – Angels We Have Heard On High – Lyrics written by James Chadwick fit to the French tune – Gloria

Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains
Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be?
Which inspire your heavenly songs?
Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Gloria in excelsis Deo!

My Heart

In the Bleak Midwinter
published as a poem by Christina Rossetti in 1872

1 In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.

2 Our God, Heaven cannot hold him, nor earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

The Adoration of the Shepherds

3 Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
but his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
worshiped the beloved with a kiss.

4 What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
if I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
yet what I can I give him: give my heart

In the Bleak Midwinter, composed by Gustav Holst from the poem and performed by Corrinne May

The Hymn of Promise

by, Natalie Sleeth

In the bulb, there is a flower
In the seed, an apple tree
In cocoons, a hidden promise
Butterflies will soon be free

In the cold and snow of winter
There’s a spring that waits to be
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see

There’s a song in every silence
Seeking word and melody
There’s a dawn in every darkness
Bringing hope to you and me

From the past will come the future
What it holds, a mystery
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see

Hymn Of Promise sung by Debra Nesgoda
